To Request a Duplicate Payment Refund
Refunds will only be issued when Proof of Payment and a Duplicate Payment Refund Application are submitted from both payors. Thank you for your cooperation.
Comments or questions about duplicate payment refunds should be directed to JShetina@willcountyillinois.com.
Please provide one of the following:
Photocopies of the front and back of your canceled check(s) or
Your monthly bank statement identifying date(s) and amount(s) paid or
Your tax bill receipt(s) for the tax installment(s) provided to you if your payment was made in person or at the bank
The homeowner must also provide:
Photocopy of your most recent Mortgage Statement which should indicate your loan or account number
If your mortgage company, bank, title company or financial institution made your tax payment, please have them submit a Duplicate Payment Refund Application which provides the following information:
Real estate property tax number (PIN)
Taxpayer's name and address
Loan number or closing number
Amount paid
Date paid
Party who should receive the refund
If you made the tax payment, and you wish to request a refund, then print out the PDF document below to apply. To request a duplicate payment refund, you must be one of the payors.
The tentative date for refund of duplicate payment(s) is 6-8 weeks after the receipt of the necessary documentation.
