Will County will conduct its Annual Real Estate Tax Sale on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 9:30 AM. The sale will be in the Will County Board Room at 302 North Chicago Street in Joliet.
- Complete and submit the Tax Sale Buyer Registration Form (Form Available After November 1, 2017)
- Submit a deposit of $500 payable to “Will County Treasurer.” Our office will (a) apply the deposit to your purchase at the tax sale, (b) refund it if you attend the tax sale but do not make a purchase, or (c) keep the deposit as a forfeit if you do not attend the sale.
- Request a Delinquent Parcel List. The cost for a paper list is five-cents per page after the first fifty (50) pages. We can provide the list as a digital file emailed to you with updates, for as a paper list with no updates.
- By law, you must notify our office (by US Mail, fax, or email) no later than December 3, 2013 of the name of your substitute bidder.
We will collect payment for your total purchase at the end of the sale, or when you have completed your bidding if prior to the end of the sale. We require you to leave a blank check with our cashiers on the first day of the sale. Once we calculate your total purchase, our cashiers will complete the check and email you a receipt along with a final purchase list.
The Will County Treasurer’s Office employs RAMS℠, an automated system to track bids and compile data, to conduct our tax sale. RAMS℠ allows bidders to prepare pertinent data for each parcel as it comes up for sale. The system displays the current low bid through the sale of that item. As the sale progresses, each buyer can view a running total of purchases by dollar amount, number of items, and the weighted average of bids. We will distribute a list of purchased parcels during the sale.
Please not that our tax sale is not an internet bid sale. You must register as a buyer, and attend the sale, to purchase tax certificates through RAMS℠.
