Will County Treasurer’s Office will conduct the county’s Annual Real Estate Tax Sale on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 9:30 AM. The sale will be in the Will County Board Room at 302 North Chicago Street in Joliet.
Each tax buyer must register with the County Treasurer by Monday, November 26, 2012 in order to participate. Download the Tax Buyer Registration Packet here. The registration fee is $500.
The following is a list of important dates for the Annual Real Estate Tax Sale.

Beginning September 5, 2012, taxpayers may file a tax objection complaint under Title 8 of the Illinois Property Tax Code (35 ILCS 200/Title 8). Taxpayers have until the close of business on December 4, 2012 to file an objection with the Circuit Clerk of the Court.
As with any legal proceeding, the Circuit Clerk charges a filing fee. The filing fee for tax objections is $136 to open a case, and $100 for each additional parcel.
The case number for objections to the 2011 levy is 2012 TX 334. Please consult qualified legal counsel before filing a tax objection. The Will County State’s Attorney, Civil Division, represents the county in these matters.
